S*xual Urge is a healthy and natural human desire which indicates that we are se*ually active and healthy. Yet, it becomes unhealthy when we can no longer control, when it interferes with our life, daily activities, and relationships.

 

Having understood my high s*x drive, how it affected my studies as a student, and how I struggled to put it under my control and became more productive, I’m pleased to share with you some effective tips that can help you control your libido.

What is Se*ual Urge?

The term “libido,” or “s*x urge,” describes a person’s inclination for se*ual behavior, which is a result of their fundamental biological need to procreate.
It’s a common emotion that anyone can have, regardless of their desire to procreate.
A person’s libido might range from having no desire for s*x at all to wanting to have s*x frequently.

High s*x drive is OK as long as it doesn’t take up too much of one’s mind. One may want to lessen their s*x drive, for instance, if it: interferes with their job, social life, sleep, or health; impacts their mental health; makes it difficult for them to feel satisfied, regardless of how much s*x they have; degrades the quality of their relationships; or results in other negative consequences.

Everybody has a different definition of a normal s*x drive, and people are likely to have greater s*x desires at different points in their lives.

 How to control your se*ual desire

1. Find a definite Purpose

Finding a definite purpose is one of the ways to preoccupy your mind important things, thereby shielding your mind from destructive thoughts. It has been said that an idle mind is a devil’s workshop. A mind preoccupied by positive activities cannot give room for any compulsive behavior capable of disrupting such positive activities. Thus, when your mind is preoccupied with a desire to give your life a meaning, it will be easier for you to discipline yourself and be in total control of your se*ual desire. Whenever the se*ual urge comes, intentionally switch your mind definite purpose and you will feel better.

2. Desist from factors that can trigger se*ual desire

Psychologists have maintained that s*x emotion is the greatest of all human emotions. So, in order to control your se*ual urge, you must be intentional about. Avoid those factors that can trigger the desire. Stay away from pornography, drug and alcohol.

 

Porn*graphy is a quick trigger to se*ual urge. If you really want to put your sexual urge on check, you must avoid pornography. Drvg and alcohol are known substances that can make you lose control over yourself. Desist from alcohol so as be sober enough to control your libido.

 

3. Leave your present environment

If you are feeling horny, it is advisable you leave the current location where you are and move to another place. It could be taking walk. Doing this may switch your mind from the thought of s*x to another thing more productive.

 

4. Prepare a to-do list and keep it handy

S*x control is about distraction. By writing down your daily activities in a paper and keeping it in your pocket will help you to channel your mind towards your work, rather than seeking physical expression of your s*x desire. Whenever the thought of s*x comes, bring out your list and begin to think of how to accomplish them. This will enable you to be in control of your emotions.

 

5. Seek Counseling

When your se*ual urge becomes uncontrollable and you don’t know how to go about it, get a professional counseling of a psychiatrist, Psychologist or a therapist. They will guide you on what to do be in control of your s*x emotion.

 

6. Meditation

 

Meditation will help you to transmute your se*ual energy to more productive thoughts that can help you be more productive in your life and activities. Meditation is a mental process that helps you reach your creative mind, thereby bringing out thoughts that can be helpful. I advise you go into Meditation when the thought of se*ual expression preoccupies your mind.

the foregoing strategies of controlling se*ual urge is not by any means the only way to control se*ual urge, but I’m certain that following them will help to control your animalistic libido and let you focus on your daily life and work. Remember, s*x addiction is a destructive compulsive behavior which can ruin your life and chance of success if you cannot control it. S*x addiction is as destructive as drvg and alcohol addiction. Control yourself; control your life.
